What of your interests, preferences, obsessions (movies, TV, toys, food, clothing, etc.) might be considered childlike or childish? Why do you love this stuff?
I have a reawakend love for music! In the last year I started going to small clubs and concerts. Arctic Monkeys, We Are Scientists, Panic! At The Disco, Morningwood, Franz Ferdinand, etc. And I have a crush on a former American Idol contestant.
Did you have these interests as a kid? Were they developed as an adult, were they denied to you as a kid?
I went to a lot of concerts in college and sort of got away from that while I got married and had a son and dogs. Crushes were a big part of my junior high and high school life!
Ever feel any stigma from colleagues/parents/friends about childlike tastes or mindsets?
My husband and 16-year-old son are a little embarassed, but they like some of the concerts we’ve been to. They are indulging my crush. My coworkers so far think it’s kind of neat that I’m acting so young.
